Hi, gang. I got something this week I never thought I'd ever find: an original assembly manual for the Skylark bodies. The Millenium industries reprint is better than nothing, but is grossly incomplete and illegible in places, as most of us know. These things were hand constructed on a very limited basis. This one I'm told was for a Buick engineer at an assembly plant and is bound with the metal tine and buckle binding of the era, and printed on blue card stock, with tabbed sections. This one basically has everything. If anybody has any specific questions that aren't covered in the reprint, I'll be happy to look 'em up and post here as time permits.... Also, the Millenium version was copied from a print around June of '71; Most of these sheets are dated in November. John
same question..'72 I have a Millenium..and it is missing some pages..especially A-body pages. Same question..where/who/how much can you get another '72..? Thx, Stanley
I got mine on E-Bay. I've been playing around on E-Bay for years and had never even seen another 72 come up before; so I snatched it up. You'd think that when they did a reprint, they could at least have used all the pages!
I seen that guy selling those.. I was outbid on the '68 version that he was selling :af: I think he was also selling ,67,,69,73 and '74 versions at the same time.
Jeff Sanok, I would gladly pay to get a copy of a complete 71 assembly manual if you are willing to copy it. Duane
For that matter.. I would bet that a lot of us would pay a fee to get a full copy of an original manual. Except that it is probably illegal to copy copyrighted material without permission from GM..as Millenium must have done. But I'm in for a copy of the '72.. Stanley
Duane, that makes 2 of us I'd pay also for a COMPLETE 71 asm.:TU: please:Smarty: :Smarty: :TU: Or send it to me, and I will make all the copies and go thru the hassle at work.   I'll even take a few moments to figure out how to print on both sides of the paper!:TU: The one I have from car fax is crapola, every time you turn the page you have to turn the book too or the print is up-side-down!:stmad: ou: :stmad:
There is no copy right that last for printed material 31 years after the origional print was made and since GM has no intention to reprint the origional one I'm sure you are safe with making copies as long as your not selling them for more than what it costs for reproduction. Just my 2 cents.
I'd love to have a copy also but didn't say anything at first because I didn't want to open this can of worms. But....GM owns the rights to their logo and the Buick logo. Anything that is sold with this logo is a copyright infringement unless it is licensed by GM (in other words, they get a cut.) Maybe these manuals be copied with the logos blacked out or something, I don't know for sure. Of course, if a person were to make a few copies for his own use and give one or two to a few friends and keep it discreet, I doubt anyone would be the wiser.:TU:o No:
72 Ass'y Manual Copies I have a few copies of the unabridged '72 Skylark / GS / Sportwagon Assembly Manual for $40 plus shipping. The 300 pages are double sided and coil bound with a clear cover and heavy back. A few pages are kind of light; but it's quantum levels above what's commercially available. Either e-mail me at 72gs455@cox.net or PM me if interested. Note: these copies do NOT include the big car ass'y manual. John
I've shipped out all the manuals to the folks who have responded; so if you sent me a check and don't have it by the end of this week, please e-mail me and let me know.... I still have a few copies left if anybody else is interested.... John
Count me in too... If you still have a copy of the complete manual I'll take one. I bought one of the reprints from ebay, and while it's better than nothing it is missing a large amount of information. Thanks
Guys, I have a single copy (1 copy only) of a 71 GS/Skylark Assembly Manual for sale. It is a complete version with all the pages intact. (Not like the millunium copies that are out there for sale.) I had a copy made up for a friend at Kinko's, and they screwed up and made 2 copies instead. I didn't realize it until I got home. These are loose one sided sheets and are drilled for a 3-ring binder. That way you don't need to keep turning the pages over to read them. If you are interested the price is $40.00 and I will include up to $5.00 for shipping. Anything over that is your cost. If someone can use it, that's fine I just want to get my money back. Duane
