Guy's I know it's been addressed before but I couldn't find the exact answer, so here is the question.

I currently have a 75 and a 76 455. I've been told to ditch the heads. I have access to 69 heads and a 72 compete engine missing the timing cover and all accessories.

My thought is, I should use the 75 engine and put on the 69 heads. Will the compression be too high for 92 octane.

Or should I use the 72 heads.

Which is the best street combination (no track time) and are there any pitfalls with either option.

    Thanks in advance.

You can use either the 69 or 72 head on the 75 block, the 69 heads will give you slightly higher compression than the 72's, you will still be under 9 to 1. Remember, the 69's are about the most prone to be cracked on the top side as any head out there.
