Did the 1972 Skylark come with a rear spoiler as an option? Was it standard or an option with a 1972 GS? Stage 1? I really like the look of the spoiler, but don't want to look like an idiot having one on my 72 skylark/almost GS. Thanks!
I would have to say it was optional, more then likely a dealer installed option. I have seen GS's with spoilers, can't say if they were ordered as such or if the spoiler was installed later but assuming it was an available option I don't see why it couldn't be had on the skylark or even the special platform. I'm sure some literature especially one showing a sales form might show what could be had or not had. With all the alleged crazy combinations that people have documented for the 60's and 70's cars I dont see why the dealer wouldn't gladly put a spoiler on a customers skylark. Allen allioop108@aol.com
The rear spoiler was part of the GSX ornamentation package by 72. Not sure on whether it was available on skylarks from the factory or not. It's possible that only the GS cars had this upgrade option. But then again it's who you knew in the right place I suppose. The dealers might have done about anything to sell a car.
