will a 72 lesabre or centurion hood fit a 71? i know it has that front lip but is it detachable? ive seen a couple of picture that look like it isnt part of the hood just an add on piece? anybody?

It got screws in the back on the 72, maybe you can interchange the front piece from 71 <-> 72. I'll go out and have a look later, got a 72 hood in the garage.

    power dome

it seems to me that the 72 hood was advertised as having the new "power dome" - I don't know if the different shape of the hood would affect it fitting the 71 or not - could be some differences in the latch with the higher hood.

71 and 72 hoods are interchangeable if you remove the bolt on lip.

"Power Dome"??? So that's worth like what, 100hp?

Seriously, what's a power dome?

It's hard to get a decent shot of the bolts holding the front part of the hood, there are four bolts evenly spaced on each side.

Hinge position, if it's this one you're talking about, or was it the front one holding the hood you meant?

Well...I saw the Mad Max movie, like Adam mentioned...and at the circus last weekend, they had 3 motorcycles going around inside one of those huge balls (they called it "power dome")...

And while the idea of careening around inside a huge metal dome with chainsaws, axes, and spikes does sound like a lot of fun, I somehow don't think that's what Buick had in mind back in '72. But then, I could be wrong... :Brow:
