I drove the 68 over to a little outdoors local car show/swap meet this afternoon, and found a few Buicks. I had heard about a Red/Black GSX in town, but hadn't seen it yet myself, but it was in this show. Now I have no idea how Real this car is, but it has Stage 2 fender emblems, and a Stage 2 decal on the air cleaner too. It's in decent driver condition, showing some wear and tear on the body, cracked grille, kind of dirty engine compartment, but all in all, pretty decent shape. Got the owner's name off his show sheet, and he's local, in West Fargo. Might have to try to look him up sometime. Also a very nice 69 Riv, kind of a light olive green color, but looked very good on this car. And a beautiful 55 Special 'vert, red/white. Believe it or not, there was not a single Camaro or Chevelle to be seen! Plenty of mods/rods and a few mopars. I did manage to pick up a few body emblems cheap, but I still have to spend some time id'ing them.
David, Sounds like we had the same thoughts today. Greg and I went to a car show at the local Hooters this afternoon. To my surprise there was actually a 72 Skylark Custom there. A very nice car with great paint. Everything else was either a rod with chevy power, chevelle, camaro or newer mustang.
Eric, I enjoyed the show yesterday a lot. There were lots of off-model cars to see, much more than the popular stuff we're used to seeing. Probably because it was an outdoor show in May in ND... it did start to rain mid-afternoon, just when we left. I had my 6yr old with me. She came along for the hotdogs...
Some of the Local "Cruises" are getting interesting in Houston as well. 2 weeks ago, 3 GNs (85 & 2 87s) 1 71 Skylark w/455, My 72, & 1 41 Buick "Kustom" with Carson Top. A 60 Electra "Bubble top" was there the week before, along with a few Skylarks as well. Saturday, before Last, we went to another, with 3 GSs , (66,70 & Mine) and found an unknown 71 with Stage1 emblems. THINGS are PICKING UP. JR
RED gsx? Dave I think that is Alans 64 (board members name) Dad's car. He lives some where off of the that goes by the old West Fargo meat plant. I think he had that white 64 for sale on Main. Did you see the 65 Lasabre for sale by Lunde?
Re: RED gsx? Yep, I did see that 65. I forget the asking price on it, but I seem to recall it had a fair amount of lower body rot?? I don't know if much stuff interchanges with 65 'larks or not, but I would expect it would be hard to find repair stuff to do much resto work?
