Guys Does anyone know if this car is truly a 72 GSX with a Buick 350 engine and no air car is for real. I am really considering this car for possible purchase and restore project. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Buick-Other...32637&rk=3&rkt=4&sd=301302822430#ht_269wt_982 George
I really like the color combo, and it looks like he can prove it's real. Looks like an 'honest' car, but I don't know what a fair price would be. If you do buy it and restore it photograph and document all the original stuff. Patrick
Looks to be legit. Would have to read the original paperwork to be sure. Seems like this one surfaced awhile back. Sounds familiar.:TU:
It is the real deal from what I have heard. Here is a thread from when it was on ebay before: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?276104-72-GSX-on-Ebay&highlight=72+gsx+on+ebay
Started at $10,000. in Dec. of 2013. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Buick-Other...m=291025829446&pt=US_Cars_Trucks#ht_169wt_958
this is the same car and was determined to be legit. Low body number, build sheet, original dash emblem and spoiler I remember it had a std steering wheel the last time I saw it. I also think while its rare 13k is a reach because of it being a 350 and how rough it is. Still being one of 44 makes it a rare car but how desireable is it ? o No: At 10 starting bid it had no bids
John do you recall the 71 cortez gold gsx 350 " barn find " that showed up @ the Nats in mid ' 90's ? Also from Virginia .. DL
"John do you recall the 71 cortez gold gsx 350 " barn find " that showed up @ the Nats in mid ' 90's ? Also from Virginia .." DL, That was my old car. Ritchie owns it now. I talked about that in the old thread they were referencing. Duane
Yes I was remembering the one on Ebay also I thought it had a standard 2 spoke with the woodgrain steering wheel and was a no bid at 5k. Interesting that Virginia is where my Stage 1 Suncoupe came from also. A fellow local to me has a 72 GSX in dark green & white guts he had a thread on here. Lost track of him CustomD or something like that. he was doing a frame off

I like the color combo a bunch! however I feel the reserve is a bit hopeful. I picked up the 70 for about half that and it's in much better condition. The 72 I used to have (Flame orange, Black buckets) was far better optioned but a steaming pile of rust. Pretty much all the GSX bits on my convertible came off that 72. Rare though and I hope someone returns it to the way it should be.
Cowl was more for unrecommended options like a blue car with red interior for example . 71 / 72 GSX is still a SCO WA5 option . DL
Well, what was left of one yes. It had been hit in the right quarter years before I got it (1985) and the replacement panel was so poorly installed a vinyl top was installed to cover up the bodywork, and the car was so rusty that at the time there was no point in saving it. All of the usable GSX bits went on my convertible while the remainder went to a guy in the San Francisco area to, ironically, be used on another 72 GSX, that one being a Flame Orange 455 car. My old car may still exist somewhere out there, but it would have taken a ton more cash than I had being in the USAF, to restore it.
