Due to personal circumstances Im selling my racecar. This isnt easy for me. I have poured the last 12 years of my life and countless $$ into this car.

1972 Buick GS350 Originally built in 2000 - 2003 for GSE Race class at the GS Nationals with a Buick 455, and then switched to an LS motor in 2010 read on for details. This car is an original GS 350 that had a decent body on it. In 2000 I stripped it down to a bare frame and body shell. I stripped, cleaned, sanded, and painted the frame and the underside of the body. The core support was replaced with a real nice original. The bumpers are OK, but need rechrome to be show car quality. The paint job has been on the car since before I got it. Again, its OK, but would need repainted to be a show car. NOTE: This car was built to be a racecar, not a showcar. It looks OK, but my focus was to make it clean and easy to work on, and, of course, fast. I have only footbraked it. I installed a trans-brake, but havent used it. The delay box is mounted on a quick release pin with a Deutsche plug to disconnect the wiring. Ive had slicks and drag radials on it, and it hooks good with either. The best it ran with the Buick 455 is a 9.93 @ 131 with a 1.36 60'-time. That was off the footbrake with the factory bucket seats and steel hood (3550 lbs.). In 2008 I switched to Kirkey seats, and installed a fiberglass hood. The rest of the car is steel. The glass is original. All windows go up and down. The car has a 6-point full cage welded to the frame. It has not been certified, yet, but Im sure it will. Everything was built with the NHRA rule book in hand. The back seat is still in the car. This car is registered, licensed, and insured in Florida.

Around 2010, I sold the Buick engine and installed a 6.0L LS2. The engine is detailed below. I have run 11.11 @ 119 with the LS, but I havent been to the track with the new cam. It definitely pulls harder on the street, so I would expect high-10s.

It was not driven more than 10 or 12 miles total on the street with the 455, and it has only been driven about 100 miles with the LS motor. The chassis has about 80 dragstrip passes on it total since it was built.

Details on the equipment are as follows:

Front Suspension - Del-A-Lum bushings, Comp Eng 3-way shocks, Moroso Springs. A-arms were stripped, sandblasted, painted, and assembled with new ball-joints. Front brakes are Strange lightweight.

Rear Suspension - HR Parts anti-roll, Global West lower bars with spherical bearings, Wolfe dbl adjust upper bars with spherical bearings, QA-1 12-way shocks.

Rearend: GM 12-bolt, LPW girdle, 4.10 gears, 33 spline Toms KA axles, Strange spool. The housing has Ford style ends on it so c-clip elim are not necessary. Brakes are GM 9.5" drums. All brake hardware was brand new in 2001.

Driveshaft: PST 3.5" aluminum with 1350 joints on both ends.

Transmission: TH400 by Paul Doorn, JW Ultrabell, Trans Specialties t-brake, rev manual valve body, Cheetah shifter with air shifter. PTC 8" converter, stalls about 5,000 behind the LS2.

Engine: Originally an L76 6.0L from a 2008 Chevy Truck. It had 8,000 miles on it when I bought it. Its an aluminum block with L92 style heads. The original owner was a GM tech and removed the DoD and VVT equipment. The lifters are LS7. The oil pump was replaced with a Mellings High Volume. I installed a GMPP carb intake, Katech rod bolts, ATI Super Damper, Edelbrock 1 x 1 7/8 stainless steel step headers, TCI flexplate, Meziere 42-gph water pump, and Moroso Oil Pan. It also has a Quickfuel 950DR carb. The starter is a Powermaster mini starter. The ignition is controlled by an MSD 6012 controller with GM coils and MSD plug wires.

Fuel system: 8-gallon fuel cell in trunk, BG280 pump and filter, AN-10 hose to front, BG regulator. There is a fake factory fuel tank for appearance only.

Exhaust: 3" mandrel bent x-pipe, Dynomax mufflers, TA 3" tailpipes. All welded. I installed another set of 3-bolt flanges behind the mufflers, so the whole center section can be dropped out as one piece.

Electrical: I kept the factory fuse block, but kept only what I needed to run the lights, turn signals, etc. A second fuse block on the passengers side runs the critical items. I also installed a (semi) floating ground. The negative cable runs to a copper bar on the inside of the firewall, and everything grounds to that. A Dedenbear CO-2 delay box is mounted on a quick release pin with a Deutsche plug to disconnect the wiring.

Wheels & Tires: Weld Draglites, 15x10 and 15x4. M/T Sportsman Fronts, Hoosier 29x10 bias QTP DOT slicks.

The price is $12,000. I have easily over $30k invested. This price also includes the Buick motor mounts and some misc. parts I have laying around.

The car is located in Dover, Florida. Please e-mail or PM me if interested. Thanks for reading.

Just an update to be fair to everybody. Krayzie949 asked about buying it as a roller. I responded that I would, and gave him a price. I have not received a response back. I also received a similar PM from BuickGSrules. I also responded to him. Now gsparts is 3rd in line. Let me know if anybody has any questions. Thanks.

I may be interested in your motor and trans if you sell the car as a roller.

PM me a price on your complete setup so I can put this in a car I have.

Several people have asked about the roller. The price for the roller depends on the equipment that is left on the car. Some want the transmission, some don't. My starting price so far has been $9,000 and leave the transmission in the car, but that is negotiable. I don't sell cars very often, so this whole thing is kind of a shot in the dark right now for me. I'm open to serious offers. Thanks.

Thanks. I really want to sell the car as a whole, but if I end up with the motor after I sell the car, I will get in touch with you. Thanks.

This car is the best deal on this board, and I can't see for the life of me why someone wouldn't want this turn-key????

If you want to put a troublesome Buick engine into something, start with a different car. This one has had all the hard work done already, and it is fast and reliable. This 6.0 will be running for years, long after several 455's have died.
