i was on a road trip with a buddy today to drop his tranny off to get rebuilt at Belots garage in pittsfield mass and what is sitting in his yard a 72 gs 455 conv no a/c pw tilt sport wheel i took the body tag info down 434s7fl1 tr 135 63 b 036 a 55 some of the # i had to guess a little on so i hope somebody can decode it.
Should be 43467FL1 (convertible gs built in flint) Trim is white interior Color is burnished copper with black top Are you sure its A55?? A65 would be notchback bench, A52 would be regular bench. Odd combo....are you buying it??? make sure tocheck the VIN for the "U" code (455) and that it matchs the body tag.... later Tim
tim it could have been 65 some#'s were hard to read. i might if the price was right .it is at a resto shop so i would assume it's there for work and lot's of it.
oh ya need quarters lower front fender rad support inner fender grille was busted but not to bad needa a new top the interior was full of parts you couldn't sit in the front seat i like the color though the same shop had a conv frme of another a-body i really wanted to take that home
R72gs HI Karl here was my post on your car way back in march. It was great shootng the breeze with you . Todd
Thanks Todd, It's a project......Funny never saw your post. Met Nelson at Musclepalozza and went to see the car. As you saw it's now in my garage. True big block (sloan verified). Sloan says "demonstrator" billed to a dealer in Dutchess County NY, but no record of a delivery dealer?? Early build 3rd week of August '71. High option car, P/W, Crusie, tilt, rally wheel, power notch bech seat, mini conole, deluxe seat belts with front shoulder belts, bumper guards, quick ratio steering, rally suspension all for an invoice of $4095.15. (and only an AM radio, go figure) Plan to really start this winter. Needs a ton of work. With only 128 built I'm going to save it. Here's a picture when it was at Nelosn's shop.
