72 GS 455 conv production numbers by color

I know 126 total but.....
Was wondering how many were sunburst yellow with white top and interior.

Another car I should never have sold........

 

I had a yellow car, white top and white interior. Sold it about 2003. It is in West Bloomfield Michigan and is now painted red. GS 455. Had every single option except cruise control.

 

I saw someone posted a color breakdown chart for 72 Stage 1s....wondering if same is available for 455s

 

A break down is not currently available for the GS455 convertibles like we have for the Stage 1 cars. What we do have is a total of how many GS convertibles were yellow (that number includes GS350, GS455, and GS Stage 1) which is shown in Buick Daily Car Reports. Mark M (aka GSXNUT) went to the Sloan Museum and combed through hundreds of thousands of VINs and found all 81 of the '72 Stage 1 convertibles and recorded the data for those cars. That's why we now have the detailed data for the Stage 1 convertibles.

When I get home I will post the total number of yellow GS convertibles. I looked it up yesterday and was surprised that it's actually a high number that is likely being driven up by the GS350 but we have not way to know for sure.

Also, the book I have lists 429 convertibles having the white notchback interior, and 498 having the white top.

Interesting that flame orange was top color....wouldn't be at top of my list

 

LOL, wasn't mine either but I like it...the number of compliments is amazing too. You can get away with a lot on a convertible and orange is a fun color.
