    That place looks familiar...

Paint job looks good Tom. When is the powerplant going in? I saw where you were asking about the bell adapters for the tranny.

Definately looking nice, keep us posted with progress.

Thanks...Well worth it, I am so glad I stuck with it, I like the car more each day, so do my kids :).

Mike...I'll put the 455 in next year, too much on my plate right now especially with the racing this seson.

I know what you mean. I had a guy down in Long Island drop mine in for me and what a nightmare it turned out to be. I wish I had got off my arse and done it myself earlier. The guy use to know what he was doing, but did several things quite different than I would treat my own stuff. But I did have my front end rebuilt (basically) when he did the disc brake conversion as well. I spent a lot of money having done what I should have done myself. But I am now driving it, that is after spending another chunk having the carb overhauled and calibrated. Definately some extra expenses I was not expecting. Had her out tonight for a spin and loved the throttle feeling. My oldest son was laughing about how he was getting thrown into the seat. Can you say Big Block Buick ??? Heck, I still have the peg leg 2.56's in there. I am trying to find a 3.42 posi for my rear.

I know you have your Monte, but wait 'till you feel what a mild Buick can do. I think you will be impressed.

How has the season been doing for you? Did you win your bracket? I know it was neck to neck with the one guy. I hope all is well with the family, and be safe.

    Thanks '71....

Mike, There are two races left...I am in first by 1 round..pressure is on..But I will be competing in the NHRA Bracket Finals in Delaware at the end of the month no matter what.

I just hooked up with a disc brake setup, fully operational just removed from a running vehicle this morning.

Is the 455 swap a difficult swap? Any tips ? any spare parts ?

    Tom,

Pretty straight forward swap. Frame pads needs to be changed out and front springs. The 455 weighs a moderate bit more and if your springs are even a little on the weak side, you will definately notice. But guess what... You will be doing a disc brake swap, that is a perfect time to do the springs. I do have a set of frame pads, if you are interested in them, I paid like $50 for them and you can have them for $40, they are not doing me any good now...

That is awesome being in first place, good luck and I am sure you will be very proud no matter the outcome of the next two races. Good luck in Delaware as well.

The car definately looks good, I will have to snap some shots of my motor sitting in so you can see how much room there still is. But I do not have A/C and that helps to open the compartment up for room.

Will chat sometime, give me a ring.
