I would stick with the 72 heads add a 4brl intake add headers do exhaust. I would not worry about changing heads unless you have problems with what you presently have. There is not a big gain switching from 70 to 72 heads maybe a .25 point of compression. Another nice seat of the pants modification you can do is to change the rear gear to say a 308 or 323 and it will wake it right up. If you can afford to do it as well.

If you're going 4bbl, change the cam....even something very tame is much better than the stock 2bbl cam.

I have a 350 4-barrel intake if you need one.

Since your car is a 2bbl, it has a 2.56 gear and if ac it has 2.73 gears. A swap to 3.08-3.23 will make a huge difference. Also, upgrade your points ignition to an electronic set-up such as HEI or Pertronix.

I didnt know the 2 barrel had a different cam.. thats very interesting and useful info!

I also didnt realize that cars with a/c stock got lower gearing.. also interesting!

I would consider your 2 bbl intake as part of payment on a 4 bbl intake, Q-jet and hard to find/figure out, expensive Dayco top radiator hose. Maybe another member can answer for certain, I believe the 2bbl and 4 bbl take different upper hoses.
I will send you a pm, my location is 20min south of Corning.
I have been trying to race a Buick 350 and need the 2 bbl intake to meet rules at a different track.
