I figure I will post here before I set my car out on the market elsewhere. I would love to have another Buick person finish it off. Here is what I have...

    71 skylark custom (numbers matching)

-car is in primer atm (80% bodywork completed)
-Headliner and door panels are removed atm (door panels i have still though)
-Car has a GS hood on it (front edge rust)
-rebuilt 350 motor with a .030 overbore (355), mild cam upgrade (under 2500 miles since rebuild)
    -Holley 600
    -T/A performance intake
    -new distributor
-Rebuilt 350 trans with a custom shift kit (rebuilt same time as motor)
-Flowmaster 40 series 2.5 in exhaust less than 2 months old
    -T/A alum valve covers
    -N-25 bumper (not installed)
    -replaced rubber seals
-both fenders had lower rust areas cut out and replacement panels installed
-I have all the trim parts still
-I have 4 new shocks for it not installed
    -PS/PW

EDIT: Brake problem is fixed :(.

It has the problem with the rust under the battery and same on the opposite side still.

The car runs great, sounds great, and is almost ready to look great, I just don't have time to work on it anymore (144-200 hours in a 2 week stretch while we have guys deployed) :ball:

I am looking for $3500 for it. OBO

PM me, or leave a post here. I am located in Goldsboro, NC BTW

    Thanks,
    Jeff

I know the rules at the top of the forum say no comments on peoples pricing, quality, etc, but I don't mind the critique guys. If I am way off base with it let me know please. :spank:

The 71 skylarks are popular, the 71 gs's are fairly hard to find. I had a similar car up for sale for $3500 canadian, and i didnt get much response for it. However, you are bringing alot to the table, ie a good motor, good trans, awesome prepped body, and overall dependable nice sounding car. My car had a similar body and an engine in need of a rebuild, the rear end wasnt great either. Its a car better suited for a younger guy who is looking for "muscle car performance" rather than a collecter guy or girl that is looking for a nice buick. Your price is good (i just sold mine) you just need to be patient. You will have better luck posting it in the local paper, or things like that. Try to target the general public as potential buyers rather than just the buick community. But for the board, i think $2500 will get rid of it fast for you. Pix also help if you can borrow a cam, or even buy a disposible and scan it in.

Do you have any more pics? How bad is the rust on the hood edge? Does it have A/C, PS, PB? Where are you located? Thanks, John

    John,
I am working on getting a camera for the afternoon. Should have one to use by Sat. The front edge of the hood is rusted through along the inner edge, when the front trim piece is on you can't tell it's there. I have cleaned it and put rust converter on it already so it won't be getting any worse.

    The car has power steering/brakes/windows.

I am in Goldsboro North Carolina.

    Jeff

EDIT: I don't think it's visible in the pics very well, but I forgot to mention the front windshield will need to be replaced as it has a crack in it. Sorry for the omition.

I'm curious aboout the Camaro wheels, did they bolt right on?

Yea they have the same bolt pattern. I own an 85 camaro, my freind has a 69 cutlass, and i recently had to sell me 71 skylark custom :(. All three cars had original company wheels respectively, and all three cars had tried all three different company wheels at some point without issue. They bolt right on. They are the nice 16x8 iroc ones, if you put a nice set of buick rallyes on your car, and sold the wheels seperate you'd make alot of money that way. EVERYONE wants those wheels, you'd sell them easy on a camaro site. they range in price from $300-800 USD.

Yep, They bolt right on like Azeem said. The only thing I had to change was the lug nut type.
