I’m considering selling my 71, I’ve owned the car for over 10 years & its sat for the last 7 while I was busy with life. My plan was to get it back on the road this year but we just sold our house & need to move in mid July. The car had a resto at some point prior to me purchasing it, it’s a great 20 foot car but needs the body work redone as it’s starting to bubble. It’s sat in my garage since I bought it & hasn’t gotten worse thankfully since it’s been inside but the pictures tell the story. I just had the front passenger side foot well patched at a body shop a month or so ago & I’ve been buying more interior parts getting it ready for the road. I have a convertible top scheduled to be installed in mid July so I’ve bought a bunch of new parts to be installed during the top install. I will cancel the top install if I sell it or if it doesn’t sell will get the top installed & then keep it.

The motor ran strong & the under hood has been detailed but it has sat un-started for 7 years. Replaced the points ignition with a Pertronix set up & installed a fresh Quadrajet done by Everyday Performance prior to taking off the road so it should start with fresh gas once the tank is drained. The turbo 350 trans tail shaft leaked like a sieve so I had a fresh 350 done by Ken @ Everyday with a custom convertor that he had, still needs to be installed. Original non AC car, repro hood tach added, decent front bumper, new re-chromed rear bumper that needs to be installed. Undercar has been painted & detailed from older resto, drum brakes all around.

    The good-
A complete brand new Legendary pearl white interior, new covers installed on the seats, new door panels, carpet, convertible top boot, well & rear armrest panels.
    Repro seatbelt set
New repro rally steering wheel, arm rests, weatherstrip fuzzy’s (inner & outer)
New convertible top motor/pump, cylinders & hoses
New top weather strips & pillar weather strips
Cleaned up dash bezel with new wood grain set, lenses & bulbs
Another set of correct sport mirrors that need to be painted to match
Lots of little trim pieces like door handles, window handles, shifter handles, etc to install the new interior
Fresh turbo 350 reman & convertor
New brass heater core to install, just started leaking after the body shop visit this year
New older rechromed rear bumper, never installed

    The bad-
Needs body work, it’s a great driver with decent paint
Needs a top, has the two typical tears in the rear from the frame
    Needs to be put together

I’m thinking $11,000 is my number but let me know if I’m way off base. I’m listing it here first & then will probably list elsewhere depending on interest. Currently the car has brand new wheels & tires with a set off 15” Buick ralley wheels that could be included instead based on what I get for the car. I’m probably forgetting some items but I’ve tried to portray the car as accurately as possible, everything will be included in the sale. Thanks.

Great color combination if it was originally blue, good luck with your sale.

Looks like I'll need to find storage for the car, I know my price is high so what's a real number for this car? I'm open to offers so please fire away.

A 71 Custom in that color is one of my all time favorites. Ever since I seen a factory magazine add for one . Unfortunately as soon as the car has bubbles and needs bodywork obviously it will need new paint and most people realize the cost. You can get a very nice 350 GS convertible
ready to go for about low 20 ks is probably 25 to 30 percent less for a Skylark. IMO
you would have to be under 10 k price wise and to be seen in person and maybe inspected on a hoist to see amount of work required. Hope this helps . All the best with selling. Still love your car.

Dropped to $9,000 with the Buick rally wheels, I’ll either keep the 18”s or sell separately.
