'71 Rear bumper guard

    Considering bidding an a rear bumper guard for a '71 Skylark/GS.
    Vendor states it is a one piece unit, U shaped. Has an accessory number, 981739, but no part number.
    I thought the U shaped guard was '72 specific and the '71 was a two piece arrangement with a vertical strip only, either side of the license plate.

    Any thoughts on this?

    All 71's I have seen are the two piece style.
