My friend Tony got the GS bug after seeing my '70, and found a complete, rustfree '71 GS350 convertible project car with #'s motor and trans. I went over to have a look, and it's pretty nifty! Blue/blk/blk with discs, rear defroster, rally 14's and steering wheel. Looks like a cosmetics job, needing paint and interior. We'll be rebuilding the motor. Should be a lot of fun! Dan

So that's what that duct is for. My '71 HDT. has it but doesn't have a rear defogger. Always wondered what it was for as it isn't attached to anything. What does it attach too under the floor?

    Careful with the duct!
It's actually a vent/expansion mechanism for the fuel tank.
'71 rear defrost is a packaged unit mounted under the rear shelf with a visible grille.

I think this explains what we're looking at.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I will be over there on Saturday to deliver a top pump, and will see if it has a grille. I'll try to remember my digital camera this time. Dan
