anyone have any literature on a towing "package" or the ratings for the '71 Estate Wagon.

Not sure on the exact rating, but judging by how many people yank their GS's around with them I would say around 6000lbs. A full weight GS goes about 3600 plus another 2000 for a trailer.

I read in my ASM manual last night....

There were 3 different pkg's depending on the desired load.
    1) 0- 2000
    2) 2000-3500
    3) 3500-5000

So, I guess you have to let us know exactly which option was installed.:gt:

Dan, thanks, just trying to get a feel for one i am about to purchase. i am not sure which one if any towing packages are optioned on this one.

i was hoping to pull my 68 Skylark GS with it about 4x a year or so.

if it stops at 5000lbs then this really is a little shy but man do they ever seem like stout pieces.

    thanks

Used to own a 71 behind which I towed a boat. Great car. Wish I had not let it go. Likely has a 9 3/8 posi. Could be one of a couple ratios.
