    Can I use a '69 350 timing chain in a '71 350?
Different numbers in the parts book but the dealer had noted to use the '69 number in a '70-76 engine.

I'm thinking the numbers are different cause the 69 woulda had urethane (plastic) teeth from the factory. You don't want one of those.

The sprocket definately has nylon teeth in my '71.
Wasn't sure on the chain.......different length?

All 350's are the same 1968-1978, you should not use the nylon gear, and I didn't think they were even available anymore, as about 100k miles they were mostly in the oil pan.

Learn something new everyday! Thanks for the tip Roberta.
I found a NOS sprocket last Fall with nylon gears. Stumbled on a NOS chain today for $10.00 & couldn't resist it. I also have an after market set with all steel gears I'll install when the time comes.
