Thanks to Mr. Gramlow for adjusting my picture to a usable size. Just wanted to get a kick out of seeing my car in here with the others. I bought it off a man I stopped in Arizona while stationed at Luke AFB and havent regretted it.Its all stock except for the msd and flowmasters. She dosnt get much use as Ive been collecting parts for a 462 swap this year. (thats also what I said last year- but its a dream Im trying to complete or get another car to build up). The a/c is not up to par but that should get addressed as well once she emerges from hibernation. Thanks again to Mr. Gramlow for his help.

  2. You're welcome!

Carry, did you also want one resized to post normal size? I thought your email only mentioned an avatar size file... Let me know, I can do one larger too, tonight at home.

And call me Dave...there's no Mr.'s around here!

Thanks Dave, yeah I thought it would come up normal size. The avatar is just what I was after and asked for, but after I saw it I figured shoot Im going to post a big ol pic on here now that I know what Im doing. Guess I still dont know what Im doing :TU:

  4. Yep, the avatar is exactly the size you see, it won't post to a larger size. I think I still have your emailed pic at home. I'll set it to a nice posting size, and send it back to ya!

Just a personal opinion but, With a car as rare as that are you sure you want to alter it by dropping in the big block?

Yes, The big block cars are insanely fun to drive but your car is getting more valuable and scarce every year.

I knew a guy years ago that had a '71 gs350 4spd in the weeds behind his house and it makes me sick because he would not part with it.

More than likely it was parted and/or scrapped.:(

Nice car Carry. It's sweet to have something that is somewhat rare.
My brother has a '71 GS350 convert. 4-speed. I think it's 1 of 51 or something like that. He always says that he's OK with the fact that the car is a small block and probably would never change it because it is rare. He says he would buy a Skylark and drop a 455 in it if he got the urge to go fast.

Just make sure that you keep all the parts to switch it back down the road.

    Good luck with your project.:TU:

    Hey Carry.

    Hey Adam, '69 GS conv. 4-speeds aren't bad either.

I think any muscle car with a 4-speed is way cool. There's just something about rowing your own gears that gets my blood going.

I don't know about you guys but when I see a nice car at a cruise in or at a car show I always approach it thinking to myself "man thats a nice car" then when I peek inside and see "the ball" I always turn to whoever I'm with and I say "dude it's a 4-speed".
I'm not the only one either I hear guys saying the same thing when they see a 4-speed car.
