For a 72 GS 455 Cali emission EGR car. Any help appreciated. :TU:

    Kevin,
I have one NOS still in the original box. It's not a Delco reman. but an actual brand new carb.
I may consider selling it if the right amount of green would be offered.

How much do you want ?

You have it . I want it. This isn't a frame off nut and bolt resto , but if you're in my price range , I'd consider it. "It's only worth what someone will pay for it ." Chances are someone would pay an arm and a leg for it ,but I can't. Let me know how much . Thanks! Kevin. :TU:

    Kevin,
I guess I really have no idea what the thing is worth. Even disregarding the part number of it, the fact that it's a brand new 72 455 carb. makes it desirable. It's rare to even find a used Q-jet that doesn't have a severely warped bowl and air horn.
We have 3 - 72 big block cars that it would work good on, which is why it has some value to me. But I also appreciate the fact that you are trying to finish your car with the proper carb.
I'm sure it runs about $300 now to have one restored, plus the cost of the core ($100 to $150 ?) :Do No: .
So I know I would need more than the cost of a restored one.

    Thanks anyway!

I wish I could , but it's not the first time. I understand you can use it ,but when you say you have no idea what to ask , I disagree. I think you know exactly what it's worth. You said it. $100 for a core. $350 to rebuild / replate. So to me that adds up to $450.00 . I know where various parts are sitting N.O.S. that I'd like to buy , but they won't sell . How about a pair of nos fenders and core support ( around $2000.00 ) destined for a 71 Skylark 350-2 stripped out , non numbers matching GS clone , that's been apart for over a decade . Why would someone put something so valuable on something so NOT valuable ? I appreciate it ,but I can't swing that much. :TU:

    Build Date ??????

If you could look at the build date and post it , I might consider it if it's close to my car's . I have a feeling that even though it's NOS , it was probably built as a replacement . Same part # , much later date . I tried to PM and email you this question , but you don't accept emails , so I hope you read this post . Thanks, Kevin :TU:

    Kevin,
I would need to dig it out to see what the date is. If I remember correctly it was built sometime during the 72 model year.
I doubt I would let it go for $450, as it's worth more to me than the price of a core and a restoration.

    Just let me know...

If it's 2551 thru 3551 I'd consider higher price ,but if it's not in that range ,I'll keep looking ,thanks.
