Hi! I was trying to get my 1993 Roadmaster out of some snow yesterday and put a lot of "juice" in both forward and reverse to get it going. After I was on the road, I noticed my Rpms creeping toward 50 in what has to be first (most likely) or second gear at right around 30 mph. I am guessing (hoping) that the governor needs replacing and not a full R and R. Once I goosed the gas pedal hard and paid off of it all at once, the shifts finally fell into place. Any advice /help? Thanks in advance.

P.S. I change my fluid yearly on my own, need it or not.

If it is a 700R4 the TV cable could have stuck or the governor could have stuck . Is it shifting OK now ? Make sure the TV cable is OK and not binding , if that checks Ok then pull governor out and clean it ,and check nylon gear or the end and see if it is worn
