time to build an ark i think i can answer about the rain drops. its rained dang near every stinkin day in the mid atlantic region for the last year and a half. a guy could get old waiting for a sunny day around here. the whole state of MD ( and VA ) is a sea of mud. a huge sink hole swallowed a car while it was being driven on a paved road the other day. arggh make it stop. henry
Bill I don't think there is a difference beteen big car & Skylark chrome mirrors. My 71 has the same mirror, less the tri shield.o No:
mirrors I'm no expert, but I think the big car mirrors are wider at the top, which these look to be. - Bill
same for A Body Good afternoon: Yes is the answer, all 1970-1972 Buick chrome mirrors are the same. Remote or manual. 1970 Has Tri Shield, 1971-1972 have no tri-shield otherwise they are the same as well. Thx JA
HENRY...THAT was great!! Thanks for a good laugh. Besides it's true, a car did sink into a hole very close by. Twenty feet deep. The people had to be rescued by helicoptor because the sink hole was over live wires. As for the raindrops on the mirrors ... Caveat Emptor!!
been there mirror size We've been down this road before...see mirror question I thought someone posted pictures once, but can't find them :eek2: ... - Bill
who'll stop the rain ? matt:grin: yeah we sure have had lots of rain lately. that car laying on its side in the sink hole looked like it was a toy because the hole was so big & so deep. hard to believe, glad i was'nt riding in it. ouch ! thats gonna leave a mark. henry
Henry, Weather report calls for showers in the morning and thunder boomers in the afternoon tomorrow. Gee, I can't wait. Maybe the temp will drop to below 40 again. Next week we'll have 95 degrees, 95 percent humidity and code orange air quality. I swear the weather doesn't want my car to get painted. Maybe I should just assemble it in primer.
Bill, now that you mention it.... I recall Jim Lore not buying a NOS one because it had a big car part number....I'd say there is a difference.
????????????? I'll check it out at Yardley's next weekend. I'm sure there will be both there. I'll try to remember to take my camera! - Bill :3gears:
I has rained and rained I did get a dry day and take some more pictures. Let me know if you are interested in seeing them. I put a 200.00 reserve on them because I wanted to see how things went. I was planning to remove the reserve, but e-bay won't let me. I am still kinda new to selling on e-bay. ( Been doing it for years, but sold probably less than 50 auctions ). I would have replied sooner But I had to work gobs overtime this week. I guess I messed up. Sorry to all. Paul
I bought a non-tri-shield passenger mirror, and the base is a totally different size than the tri-shield mirror on my driver's side. So something is up with different sizes.
The passenger mirror looks to be correct for an A body, the driver's side looks like a big car mirror. :Smarty:
