i am looking for a ready to bolt on carb,#7040246 or i will rebuild if needed,i bought one on e-bay and it's no good and i have an appt. for the paint shop next and need to be able to drive it.you guys helped me find a intake so maybe i can find a carb. fast! thanx dave
That is not the stage one number. The correct number is 7040246. I think there is a thread about one on Ebay for $1500 or so.
Dave, You said "no more eBay" in your last post.... For what it's worth, the seller of the one currently listed on eBay is a board member and a stand up guy. You wouldn't be buying anything that's misrepresented. :TU:
Dave, If you need something on there just to have it running temporarily, just about any decent Buick Q-Jet would work. In fact I think the Olds, Pontiac and Cadillac Q-Jets all have a front inlet like the Buick.
brett i buy lots of products on e-bay but i will not go back to the well again for the same product, not cost effective.
Gotcha. :TU: If that carb is a 7040246, I DOUBT you'll have any trouble getting rid of it.... Your eBay purchase might not be a total loss....
 i had no idea a carb was worth so much!!! i am sending my master piece to carb doctor to rebuild to new.i saw a stage 1 carb. on e-bay its at 2000.00 with 10 hours left, and i talked to a guy in Texas with one and he wants 2900.00 ,used price, wow!!!! oh yea,a pair of fenders are on e-bay for 1600.00 with 11 hours left.
