Sport mirrors are wrong for ‘70 and they aren’t level. Maybe they’ll fix them if a person pays full price. Patrick
"This car was used as a feature restoration on Dream Car Garage and not only was the car to be restored to the highest show standards but also with the intent to be functional and reliable." Whoops! That driveshaft doesn't look like it would be too reliable to me.
It is the details that I notice. Aside from what has already been mentioned: Wrong master cylinder Hood scoop buckets should be body colour Missing rubber insulator on water valve Should not even have sport mirrors Trunk bolts should be body colour Silver seat trim lifting on both driver and passenger bucket seats Should be a yellow stripe washer hose Air cleaner too dull Missing rubber bumper on centre hood stopper Should the size of the font match for speedo and tach? Cheers
I still see like a gazillion things wrong with this car. What I want to know about is the piece attached to the bottom of the front bumper, that looks factory and looks like a closeout panel or something. What's up with that?
Hello all. I’m brand new to this board and have recently purchased my very first GM muscle car, the car listed in this thread. I’m a muscle car nut and have always been a die hard Mopar guy the last 35 plus years, then I dabbled a bit into Fords now Buick’s. I appreciate you fellas pointing out some of the things that needed to be corrected ( FYI I ordered everything that you listed ) plus I plan on addressing some of the other detail / paint corrections etc.The gentleman that owned this car before me had legendary restore it and it was “ his “ personal decision to deviate from stock in regards to the “ sport mirrors “ - painted Hood scoops etc. The car really is incredible and really shines were it matters most in regards, to its original driveline - paper work etc. I would like to mention the previous owner did what many of us don’t do enough of, he drove it in multiple road rallies, some of which were 1000 miles! It was one of the main reasons deviated from “ absolutely oem. He wanted a great, reliable car to enjoy by actually driving it! Once again, I’m happy to be part of this great group of Buick lovers and I look forward to learning more and making corrections to my new GS as time goes on. Warm regards, John
Congrats and welcome! I’m glad it was built to drive. I hope you enjoy it and being a member here. Patrick
