I love the Gran Sports...2 of 3 of my A-bodies have been GS models (this 72 and my last 70 Stage I 4 speed car), but there isn't any way I'd ever pay that kind of coin for one. For the market now, I see up to 60-70K as a sound investment for the right car as far as ROI is concerned. 225K for that car seemed silly. Makes my puny 12K on my 72 GS convertible and the 4K invested in a new 455 seem like a bargain and I don't feel one bit bad about driving it. 1 in 67, nope not this latest car of mine, more like 1 in 645. Nice car for sure, but not one that would make me break the bank over...now the right 70 GSX, thats a different story
Any updates on this one? As an FYI, Crashklein (the seller) is a member of this board. Does anyone know him? I'd like to verify and document the money did change hands. As it is, to the best of my knowledge, the highest price paid to date for a GS.
Steve is a very nice guy,and knows the cars and their values well.I spoke with him on the car you speak of,would loved to have landed it,I would say if it says it sold with BUY IT NOW., it sold for what it says it did 225k.Don't know for a fact, but Steve definetly seems like a straight forward kind of guy. Joe
http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=60453 a quick 200 G's? not too shabby. Great example of buy it low, sell it high. I have some doubts in the "10 known to exist..." I bet there are more. I know a guy in my hometown that has one.
You can bet that if there were only 10 out of 65 yesterday that their will be over 100 "original" holy-grails within a year now that one went for 200+ K. That happened with the fuelie and big-block vettes years ago. More now than there came from the factory.
Im sure the car sold. Its not that hard to believe when Hemi's are selling for so much. We all know are cars are better. But this isnt the first time a GS has sold for six figures. I know of a couple that happened as long as two years ago. But because they were private sales, to some people they didnt count. I wanted to hear it from the horses mouth so to speak to prove to the nay sayers

The difference here is ALL of the factory microfilm is still in existence and the cars can easily be checked for authenticity. What you are describing above cannot happen with these cars. Duane
I'm aware of several (read: more than one) of these cars that went over this price. The times have changed and the word on the street is out! PS Jason - I already cannot afford the Buick's insurance bill ou:
