Does anybody here know anything about this car?Original panels, frame etc.?http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970...ewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item1c113d0044
I believe Buick64203 Jason Cook checked it out a couple of yrs ago, hopefully he can chime in, there was a previous thread about it.
Thats the car I bought. I'm finishing the deal on April 10th. Very sweet car that needs very little. Still have 2 sell my 70 GS clone Convertible.
By the way I'm still trying 2 find out some more info from the previous owner. Gonna have to run the vin when I get home from vacation. I posted a thread on lost and found but not much info yet.
I also believe it was a good buy. it's the car I wanted 4 a long time. Tough 2 give up my convertible though.
Interesting to note that in Jason's old post he mentioned that it had #'s matching engine and trans but in the eBay ad it says it isn't numbers matching? Wonder if he thought it was and after further research determined it wasn't?
Exactly right Chris. Found out later on. The stamped VIN fooled me at first. A few people had called me on the car afterwards and I told them (including Glenn) that it wasnt the right engine.
Are the trans and rear original? I know the distributor, carb, block are not but any idea on the heads? Thanks....
As you know, the only way to determine if they're big valve heads is to remove them from the engine. You can only go by the casting numbers if the engine is assembled
Yeah,I know....Probably not by the sounds of things but you never know? I contacted the owner and He says that it is still for sale??? I told Him that I thought that it sold and he said that he relisted it......Thanks for all the help!!!!
I spoke to the owner lou yesterday and he said it was relisted by mistake. he said the car is mine so it's obvious someone is not telling the truth!!!!We'll see what happens when I get back from vacation. Worst case I keep my mint Convertible and put a bbb in it.
I would never jump in front of anybody else even if I had to have it. If he told you it's yours,by all means have at it......Good luck with it:TU:
Hey Slamjob that was not meant for you. Maybe the owner is lying to me? I'll see when I get back from vacation. The guy gave me his word so I'll see if that means anything nowadays. I did tell him if he backs out to let me know so I take my car off the market. everyone on this forum has always been great!
