So I am trying to find buckets for the car that won't break the bank. I found some used seats from a earlier car with out head rests but I thought about it and my bench has head rests. Can I put head rests in an earlier bucket using my bench seat parts or better yet is there any ok way to cut down the bench into 2 buckets or 2 bench seats into 2 buckets. Trying to do it on the cheap, I have a new theory that if I make a plan to do projects on the super cheap then the only thing stopping me is to work on it.

Unfortunately not much is interchangable between bench and buckets. Best bet is finding a set of buckets and restore them yourself. Its not hard to replace the covers.

So far my problem is the buckets I find are 6-800 and need to be recovered or 2500 or something for new buckets.

Hi Brandon,I have one bucket for 70-72 car, complete, most likely you will want to recover, this is complete,I will have to check and see if it has the brackets with it.Its up in my attic,I did not check if it has mounting bracket..Bruno.

I think - maybe someone can confirm - you will need to change the mounting points on the floor pan.

Bruno I may be interested. Shipping may put a damper on the idea but we will see.

Does anyone have a pic of a bench seat with head rests with out covering and foam. I want to see how they are constructed.

Yes mounting is different as well. That's not too much a problem theres repro brackets or you can fab something up fairly easy to mount the seats

$600-$800.00 for bucket seat cores? I can’t get $450.00 for a complete set here,so I just keep them on a shelf for another project. I have the tracks and the floor section with the brackets too.
