I was just wondering if anyone knew of anywhere that makes full exhaust(headers back) for a '70 Riviera other than TA Performance. Just wondering if there are more choices for exhaust for my year car. Looking for like 2.5 or 3" exhaust.

Don't have anyone sensitive to offensive language around when installing TA's system.

Other than having a shop fabricate the system, TA is it.

I have their 2.5" system on my Riv.
Although the pipes are of high quality, it is a bit of a tight fit.
There are a couple of subtle bends missing from the pipes that go over the rear axle which caused some interference with the tires. I had to hammer flat spots on the pipes to give the tires some room.
Some of the hardware they give you will be of no use, I had to retrofit my factory hangers that come off the frame behind the mufflers with 2.5" clamps in order to tuck the pipes up far enough under the car, and had to dimple the pipes in a few spots were it wanted to hit the floor.
Oh, and I had to add 8" sections of pipe to the header pipes, and cut 8" off the front of the intermediate pipes in order for the mufflers to be positioned behind the floor brace were GM intended the muffler to be. Otherwize the mufflers will hang so low you wouldn't have a prayer going over the smallest of speed bumps.
After saying all that, I guess if I had it to do over again, I would take the car to a shop that does mandrel bending and have them make a system. :Smarty:

Should I tell my Kepich story again? No, it's still too painful. :Dou:

    I hear ya Joe.
It wasn't until I got into typing my post that all the heartache came back to me.

    Butthair,
Just do a search for Kepich to hear Joe's tale.

    P.S.
    What's your first name?
We are on a first name basis around these parts, and don't care to refer to you as "Butthair".

Thanks for the info, I wanted to go with the 3'' that they offer, but it sounds like its going to be a real tight fit. The only reason I would rather go with the 2.5'' would be to put some regular 40 series flowmaster mufflers rather than the Delta Flows. My name is Dave BTW.

Thats pretty rough, where in Florida is Kepich, do they have a add in the ROA? If its the same place I'm thinking of, its where I got my exhaust for my car, we have a place near Naples Florida and we went to the shop on the way and picked up the 2 1/4" exhaust for the car.

if you think fitting an exhaust from TA is difficult then try fitting a set of their headers  :spank: all i can say is i think they got the flanges to join onto the heads then guessed the rest :Do No: :moonu: :Do No: !

on my centurion the downpipes rested on the frame rails and it still wont go into park properly (bar which attaches to the transmission rests on header pipe) and thats not to mention how low they hang. I had Meineke make the rest of the system and they did an excellent job.

so in answer to your original question - get an exhaust shop to fab it up for you! :TU:

I was going to put the headers on myself and drive to this exhaust shop to have the exhaust all put on. I know of a place that does good work and its really cheap, I had them put on 2 flowmaster mufflers on my car, total of 6 welds all the way around the pipe, and about a foot of extra exhaust pipe for each muffler for $50, and they do a real good job.

Headers are never easy to install. I have a set of the TA shortys and 3 inch downpipes on my 70 Riv. I installed the headers out of the car, so I dont know what it would be like to install in the car. The headers and downpipes are really nice, I would recommend to buy both. The down pipes come off the headers and get down around the frame. You can then make your exhaust like Im doing, or drive it somewhere and let them finish it up. Even if taking it somewhere, I would get the downpipes, they are mandrel bent, and fit nicely on our frame. Good luck. You can check out my site to see the headers and downpipes on the engine: http://mysite.verizon.net/vze3fz64/buick/
They are on page 3 I believe.
