it could be, it could also be 15k. If I was local, I would have already been there to find out for sure. The owner says it is original, and there are enough original hose clamps, etc. in the engine compartment for that to be possible. interior looks pretty nice too. "the gas guage does not work. there is some surface rust. the actual mileage is whats on the picture. It was not turned over. This was my fathers car that he bought new. We drove it in parades and on the occasional Sunday drives. then it sat in his garage, untill he gave it to me. "
Contacted... I'm close by but you'll virtually need a boat to go look at it. We've broken the record for rain in April (with more coming) and now we're about to go past the record for rainfall in one month!
I also contacted for a board member. Was set to look at this morning and seller called to say it was being sold to relative. Well, I guess it will stay in the family anyway.
Thank you for the update the other day Roger. FWIW-that engine compartment shot is all I needed to see to believe the 15k statement.
Big Red (yes code 75 B) is back on Craigslist. I visited the car last night. Although there is no written documentation that the mileage is correct (actually less than 15k) the car itself speaks volumes. Original bypass hose. Most of the original clamps. Original paper tag remnants on the booster. Spiral shocks. Complete lack of wear in the interior. Amazing really. Price hiked up to 8k and he'll budge slightly. His father was a lawyer and liked to participate in parades and bought this car as a gift for his wife. The son is now selling the car. Delivered from the famed Sims Buick in Warren, OH., she now needs some attention. Exhaust is very bad. Cracked left tail light lense. Transmission is leaking. Gas gauge inoperative. Brakes pull to the left. Paint is still holding a lot of red color but has given up on the hood and decklid and top of right quarter. Ding in left fender. Lots of rustproofing done by someone a long time ago and put it on heavy. Q jet needs some attention. Missing right quarter stainless molding. Overall, an excellent candidate for a little fixing up. I don't have any more space or time and don't feel like I could flip this car (I'd end up wanting to keep it). If someone on here gets it keep us posted! Protecto plate in trunk but in bad shape. I hope I don't kick myself simply because I know I'll never get a crack at another Buick with this kind of mileage. Owner said it only saw rain once. I totally believe him.
$5k would have been a great deal, at $8k needing those items I would probably pass to. I don't think you would be able to flip it for me either.
 got cha Chris The thing of it is, what are you going to compare this car to? There literally can't be another '70 LeSabre convertible that is red in color, and with that low mileage. I've probably walked 15k miles since 1970! Had the exhaust been 100%, and he'd have moved down a little on price, I would have snapped. No doubt, 5k would have been a braggin' good deal.
