I am seeking a '70 GSX 2 in 1 plastic model kit, made by revell. I will trade an unassembled revell #7601 '70 Plymouth AAR cuda kit for one
Jeff, I have one I will sell you for $25.00 plus shipping from 28112. The box is still in the plastic wrapper. You might want to try Michael's (hobby store for girls) if there's one near you. That's where I got this one, a couple of years ago.
ok,thanks I'm not wanting to buy at this time , I wish to trade a kit I don't want for this one I'm seeking
Which one? The original one depicts a white car on the box with crazy graphics. They recently started making them again, with a blue car on the box, and more subdued graphics.
the one I had was made by Revell, I think it had a pic on the box of a stock white GSX, and a pic of a blue one with weird graphics it could be built as stock,or custom
Go to e-bay and search for "slot car" and then narrow your search at the left side of the screen to"model kits". You should be able to find one easily. I just saw one a day or two ago. Sometimes you can even find one by browsing the "slot car" search. I build 1/24 scale drag slot cars and sell them on e-bay, so I see whats out there every day. That kit is still available, and someone should probably trade you. I buy kits all the time, the next time I see one I'll get it, and gladly trade you. I have too many GS and GSX cars already. Check your area for a slot car track with a drag strip-but be careful, its addictive as hell!
That's the one I have. I spent a ton of time painting and detailing the wheels, grille, and everything, had everything almost perfect. And then I terribly botched the paint on the body.:ball:
Soak the body in Castrol Super clean. It will disolve the old paint off, won't hurt the plastic. Then you can wash it and start over. John
I have a yellow molded one, and the white molded one...both found new in the box on eBay. EDIT: Jeff, didn't you send me the white one??
Ive got that one built, and 2 of the white ones (one built, one still in the plastic), and 2 Yellow GSX's (one built, one still in the plastic). I've also heard you can soak the body in DOT3 over night, and it will get rid of most of the paint, without hurting the plastic (like the suggestion above)
Awesome, thanx for that tip. I might finish that car yet! And then I can start on my AAR 'Cuda and Shelby Z Daytona. :TU:
Strip paint off a model car?!?! Oven Cleaner!!!!!!! Works even better if you enclose it in a plastic tub to lock in the fumes too. Zip lock bag in a pinch.
Awsome beater!!! I know its not a buick but I say its easier to build a clean kit than a weathered one! Also sorry if the pics aren't great either.
