Have a few questions on some wires I have found under the Instrument Panel on my GS. Everything is working on my car, lighting included, and besides not having an in-dash clock )have tach instead), can't figure out what all these wires would go to? Here goes: There's a brown single female spade connector by the lighter socket. I know orange goes to pos at lighter and black to ground on socket housing. Also found a blue wire single female spade connector above and by the big plastic air tube about half way down as well as a double female spade connector with red and brown wires in same general area. Anyone have any ideas what these go to? They all appear factory. Thanks!

What options do you have? I have a '70 Chassis manual, I can look it up, but if you tell me what options, my search will be quicker. In the meantime I'll wade through the diagrams. I'm unemployed, I've got time:grin:

There's a clock connection and a speed alert connection in there, I'm trying to chase down the colors.

the only brown wire I can find shouldn't be alone, and it goes to the heater. I'm going back to the diagrams.

OK, I have found a single female spade termainal brown wire, all series in 1970. It goes to the optional Spotlamp. Shouldn't be near the cigar lighter, though, should be near the light switch.

clock should be black and orange, buzzer should be pink.

A dark blue wire originally went to your rear speaker(s), plugged into the back of the radio. Says Fisher installed it in my diagram.
Dark green and black wires go to front speaker.

map light or power windows should be grey or pink depending....

I think I need to know what options you have.

Options: power windows, PB/ Disc up front, tilt, AM/ FM radio, rear defogger, buckets, console, map light rear view mirror. Are you just wanting options re: electrical stuff? Bet one of those went to front speaker which I disconnected. Thanks for the input! :)

Options like A/C, defogger, etc are what I need. I still can't find that red and brown connector....there was a CB radio and a tape player that I just can't find wiring color for yet. Gotta be in the manual, I just can't find it.

I'm pretty certain that blue wire's the speaker wire. The brown one, jeez, the chances of that seem kinda slim, don't they? Spotlamp? Maybe some assembly plants tossed that wire in on the cars. Where was the car built? I'll jump back into the book this afternoon and give it another go.

Car does have AC. Built second week of December 1969 at Framingham (sp?) Mass plant. Think one was for the factory 8 track unit? Thanks for the help!

As near as I can make out, that red and brown connector must have been for a CB or 8 track player. The trouble is, the wiring diagrams I have are fine, but those two diagrams give a nice picture, but no wire colors:Do No: I am still searching for a female spade connector with a red and brown wire, though. If I spot another single female spade brown wire, I'll track that down, too. I'm figuring since everything you have works, the assembly plant must have just installed wiring harnesses that had extra connections. I'm imagining a situation where the week your car was built, Framingham had a lot of special order cars, so all of them got the harnesses with extra acessory wires whether they needed it or not:Do No:
