I just saw this add (follow the link if you can read swedish) for a 70 GS Stage 1 conv for sale in Finland. It has been restored from 1997 - 2004 and he is asking 531,000 Sek, over $73k, for it. Anyone interested....

It's a legit car, as Esko sent me the Sloan documentation on it some time ago.

It's in the registry, line 41.

I was never really a fan of the browns, but that car looks great.

    Not exactly brown...

    Harvest Gold, code 58

Hi Marco, I noticed on the GS-registry website that there were 16 70 Stage 1 coupes built and 1 GS Stage 1 conv built with a 3-speed trans. Are any of these cars still around? Great website by the way. :TU:

    Hi Hans

    Thanks!

I've (repeatedly) asked John Bernardi to register the 3-speed 1970 stage1 convertible, but to avail. At least I know it's still alive. I see many owners here on the board who claim to own a factory stage1 yet they have not registered their GS. Some owners do not wish to participate in this project - it's their own prerogative.

The 16 3-speed 1970 stage1 coupes have yet to be accounted for in the registry. I hope some still remain...

It sure looks like the 70 burnished saddle 4 speed convert. we had. The pic does not appear to be Harvest Gold but you have the codes I assume in the registry. We are in a bad situation for in terms of US dollars to foreign currency. What is the conversion applicable here.

531000 SWEDISH KRONA (SEK) = 74988.3493 US DOLLAR (USD), according to www.bloomberg.com

I don't know if the car was repainted Jim, but I do know that it's code 58 and all Buick colors I've seen look different in direct sunlight and shade. The picture above appears to be in the shade. I would imagine that a burnished saddle car would be darker in similar lighting circumstance

My friend had a stage 1 4 speed that just sold. It did not look like that color in the light or otherwise. Perhaps it was his choice of paint during the repaint. Base coat clear coat is so much brighter than the old laquers.

    Jim,

Wasn't yours triple browns as well, or did it have black interior? For some reason I thought it was a brown interior and not a Stage 1 car, but I might be thinking of a different one.

Burnished saddle interior 4 speed 70 convert. non stage.

That's what I was thinking as well. Matter of fact, I still have Dan's email address that you gave me almost two years ago. Hmm., maybe a should drop him a line again and see if he is ready to sell yet...........

Has this car been sold yet? I wonder what shipping from Sweden would be. Anyone have thoughts? Would you fly over to supervise shipping?

I dont know about shipping Sweden - US. But I have shipped some cars US to Sweden and thats runs you about $1,300. If I can help you out in any way just let me know.

Nice looking car, if you look down on the Buick cars for sale it says 69 Rivera "Ganster car" lol. If I had the money I wouldnt buy this car I would just buy a GSX

Thanks Hans. I would like to bring this car back to the US. It's just the logistics that I need to consider. Exactly what does the fyndbors.se website disclose about the car?

My, that's very similar looking to my car, right down to the black top!

If it was a Chevelle, people would snap it up at twice that price. I hope he get his asking price too. The only problem with that is it's pricing me right out of the hobby. :ball:
