You see, this is why I can't have nice things. This car is going to go for the price of a weekend cabin in Montana, and worth every penny.
No doubt! They made a bunch in this color and most "big spenders" prefer something a bit less stuffy.
This is the type of car that should be photographed from every possible angle though. Not too many mint 1970 muscle cars of any type to look at when you are trying to figure out what would be correct. The last one that you can see in new condition.
I went and looked at the car about 6 months ago, the car is definately the real deal and Chris is a great guy. But, do I really need 2 brown 70 Stage 1s?
What I like about this car also is that it has all the mouldings.Upper peak, hood, trunk and with the vinyl top's moulding it really stands out.I don't see that very often. When I look at that I wonder if these cars look better with or without the mouldings? Maybe it depends on the color.
Could you order a auto floor shift with the power seat option? Also, is that the stock steering wheel? Very nice original car, though it's got it's share of detractors that I don't think helped it when it was for sale a few years back in better car selling times. Bench seat, non sport steering wheel, column shift, AC, just to name a few. I have a 70burnished saddle GS Convert. car which is now refered to as "stay around brown" and I can tell you it has impact on the worth of the car. I am sure the sellers are nice people, though I find it amusing when they say "we're ready to sell to the high bidder" and then impose a reserve. Hope they have another good auction and that they sell it as it sounds like they're maybe ready to complete the transaction.
Yes, it is the optional and very rare Rim-Blow steering wheel. Squeeze the wheel rim and the horn will blow.
My wife and I remember seeing this car on Ebay about 2 yrs ago. I moved overseas shortly thereafter (May 07) and never thought of it again. The asking price back then was $100K. Crazy to see he still has not sold it.
WHy special order Brown? ou: ou: ou: 45K and reserve not met? Why bother selling it now put it back in the garage and let the heirs decide what to do with it.
Burnished Saddle brown paint was a Buick exclusive color and this car shows that the traditional Buick crowd still bought GS Stage 1's back in the day. Buick sold a lot of cars in this color.
Each Division of GM had one exclusive color, guess what Buick's was? You guessed it Burnished Saddle. It was by far the most popular choice for a Big Block 1970 GS Flint production sheets prove this. Special color for Buick yes, but hardly special order as seller indicates.
Brown near that shade was common back in the early 70's. My folks had an LTD and an LTD wagon in ford's brown that was close to that. Remember that this car came out in a time when green refrigerator's were common. Little different taste in "nice" colors back then. Nice period car.
I wonder if the car will really sell or not. Bad time to try to sell a car as the market seems to be down. My bet is it will not trade hands o No: It will be interesting to see what the high bid will be on this car though
Checked Ebay and the car was not listed. Is it on Ebay again? Found it. Not under Buick Skylark, under "Other". http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970....c0.m245&_trkparms=65:12|39:1|72:317|240:1308
