Looking for a clean 70 front bumper to buy/borrow for a car that is going into the Concours class at BG. Hit a snag on our timing and am stuck without one until after May.

I've got a really nice one but a dent on the bottom edge & another with more what I'd call rash/smaller imperfections along the bottom edge. Don't want to sell either but could borrow if you get desperate.

I found one to borrow, but would like to find a more permanent solution.

We are actually trying to procure a repro bumper, but apparently TPP sold out of them YESTERDAY and have no plans to restock. Eastwood has it listed on their site, and ships directly from the manufacturer. I talked to a sales goon on the phone this morning and he said that if he can physically order it on his end, then it should be available. So I ordered it. Will wait for the email about being on backorder.

Heck of a lot of $ in tooling to not make another run.

If you do get a repro I'm curious the weight difference.

From what I’ve compared with OEM and repop parts so far, they are nearly identical in weight, and in some cases, the repop was slightly heavier.

I bought TPP's headlight bezels, too. They are light as a feather. And the only thing that bothers me is that weird little line/step in the center that shouldn't be there.

I was told by someone that the repro bumper was lighter but...

Yes. The bezels ARE lighter. I have a pair. I posted a topic a few months back with those. I tried to show that impression mark/line in my pictures, but was hard to see.

Yeah…. You’d think they would be able to make that go away pretty easily in the chrome prep stage.

Here was the response from TPP sales guy yesterday after I provided him the link to their website that they actually do sell it...(I won't get into that)

"Just checked warehouse, we do not have any on hand and no ETA from manufacturer right now."

Any verdict on the Reproduction? I'm sure that isn't an option, just wondering.

Never mind, I just read the rest of this thread.:)

As far as the repop bezels go,yes, those marks could be blended away, but that is the difference between production plating and a show quality plating process. They are doing very little or no finish work and just chroming them. It’s no different with bumpers are any other parts like that. Otherwise they would cost the moon.

Adam,.. I have an Already Re-chromed 70 Bumper you can borrow...But it is, in Chicago, Illinois (at my Cousins House), with my 70 Stage-1 Convertible..waiting, for the Body, to be be Restored.. Since you're going to be working on mine anyway..!!!

I also have a pair of 70 NOS Headlamp Bezels you could Borrow as well. The Bezels I think I still have here in Arizona.

I have a Mint set (6 Piece set), of 70 Front Bumper Brackets..here in Arizona. You could also (Borrow) that set,..The Brackets need, to be primed and Powder Coated though,..before you could use them, on the Car your working on.
Just Let me know...and I'll give my Cousin a call, to see if you can pick up the Bumper, when you would be available...

Hey Jim, I have access to a borrowed bumper already. Bezels are here already, too. So we are good there. I would be interested in a bumper for a permanent solution at this point. Thanks for offering, though!

    Ok..
If I didn't need mine, I would be able to help you. But I had, a very hard time finding mine, and getting nice Quality, Re-Chrome work done.
