    Hi! Guys and Gals

It is time for me to sell my 70 GS. This is still a project but not much of one. It needs a few finishing touches but all my get up and go has got up and went. Mechanically it is a fly in and drive home car
but has some minor details to be finished or corrected. The good stuff first. The engine has been rebuilt
( not the original ). The transmission has been rebuilt ( original ). The front end has been rebuilt including the brakes. Not including the steering box. The interior is new with the exception of the door panels. They are OK but not perfect. It came from the factory with buckets and a console. It has drum brakes all around. The stock rear end is an open 2.93 I believe. It was built in Fremont Ca. and sold in Southern Nevada. It had a dime sized spot of rust on the lower back glass and directly below it in the trunk. Thats it. The engine was gone when I got the car. It has a 76 block with 70 heads and a point type
distributor so it looks fairly original under the hood. I had the cam ground through the GS club but it specs out the same as TAs 413. The engine is balanced and the block has been squared. It has JE pistons and comes in at a 9.3 to 1 compression ratio. The heads are milled 0.20 for clean up with a 3 angle valve job and a little bowl work. It was rebuilt to factory clearances. It has an Edelbrock Performer intake. I have the original GS air cleaner but don't have the sponge rubber seals. It is an A/C car but not togeteher. The dash pad is a non A/C dash pad. I have all the under dash A/C parts.
and most of the under hood parts. The transmission was rebuilt also with a transgo shift kit
and a 2300 stall converter. I could go on but will wait and see if there is any interest. I have a lot more pictures. Some before pictures during and after. The finishing touches needed are the horns aren't installed. I only have one. The blower or heater fan motor doesn't work. The emblems need to be installed on the trunk and fenders. I have them but holes need to be drilled. The grill is nice but not perfect. The front rims are fair. Also these are not correct 70 rims. The color was Burnished Saddle with a vinyl top. I was going to put GSX stripes on the yellow. I am asking $16,500.00
I would also consider a 65 Riv as a trade in but no projects. I will PM my phone number if anyone is
interested. I also have the build sheet.

I am discontinuing this for sale offer on my 70. I am probably lucky no one bought it.
I will be making improvements in the near future that will cost money so I won't be offering the car at the posted price.

A few shots during construction. I can take more if needed. I should also add it has chrome headers with new 2.5" exhaust all the way back.

Nice '70, Bob. I will shortly be in the market for a '70 Fremont-built car, so if you haven't sold it by the time I have my cash ready, I'll definitely be in touch. Just a couple of questions in the meantime-- Is it an original GS? If so, was it originally a 455 car? I'm particular about the build date on the car that I eventually get, and I'm going to be looking for a late build date. Can you check what build date yours has? Thanks!:TU:

Yes it is an original 455 GS. It just doesn't have the original engine. I have the build sheet but the date isn't there or was in an area that has been damaged. I don't believe it is a late build date though. it came with pointed lens on the instruments. From what I understand the pointed lens didn't carry all the way through the 70 Skylark/ GS cars.
Maybe someone else can help us out here.

From the info I found here the change from pointed lens, clear top overflow, plastic rad top cover was in Febof 70. The build date is on the data tag so if you post the tag info it will be decoded :)

Change over of these items were mainly December 69.

Post your body tag info I am sure your GS will be a fall of 69 built car

That seems about right, just picked up a 70 with flat lenses, black top overflow and it was built 12/23/69.

Sorry my memory did not serve me well. Wonder were I got the feb date? Anyway I'm glad there are those that can correct mistakes like mine. Man this car is for sale at the wrong time. Early, late I could care less. I like the car and wish I had the money ready now. Good luck with it.

I will be taking my GS to Phoenix Az. this coming weekend to the Pamona in Phoenix swap meet. If anyone in that area wants to see it look me up. There might even be a cooler containing adult beverages in the trunk.:TU:

It is a time capsule survivor car. Some issues but never restored just taken care of.
