I don’t know what it is about this behemoth but I just like it! The 455 just runs soooo good!! Finding parts is quite an under taking but it makes it kind of fun. Plans for the near future.. Upgrade booster for better stopping power, dial in the electrical including AC Want to lower it a bit for a nice stance upgrade suspension and rebuild steering components. All of this sounds great, but I can’t even find rotors for this car!! I heard there’s a possibility of upgrading the rotors to use 71 with D23 calipers.. Gearing… yeah… slim pickings if any exist. Ultimately, I’d love to put a FiTech kit in here with an Aeromotive tank.. I just want to modernize it a little bit Thanks!!
I would reconsider FI if I were you, but that’s just me. I’m sure others will have opinions. A properly set up qjet will make your car run awesome. And you mentioned that it already does.
Congrats , Great wagon , one year 0nly body . I sold mine awhile back , but may have extra parts , trim , small emblem , lens . I do have NOS rotors but not in boxes and no ID ? Bill
It was a commercial chassis . Cadillac reared if I remember correctly . When you look up rear wheel bearings that is the only thing that will fit , Commercial Chassis
Yeah I saw these There’s got to be another solution. I like the 71 D23 idea. Not 100% is it’ll work though.
I agree* with Dano, Adam and Mr. 554; and will add ‘don’t fix what’s not broken’. Fix what is broken; if there’s something actually wrong with the brakes for example. Otherwise, enjoy it for what it is-a super cool 50+ year old American wagon that will float some, accelerates ‘adequately’ and needs extra stopping distance. If you want a modern wagon, buy a Roadmaster (or something like the current Durango, especially the R/T, SRT and ‘Cat version). Patrick *A lot of people have trouble with FI, and when the do it can strand them. No such thing as whacking it with a screwdriver and carrying on.
Don't want anything modern. What's the fun in that haha! I agree on the FI, it was just a thought I kicked around but other then the initial throttle in hiccup, it runs super great!
Very cool wagon! And welcome from Florida! I really like the nose on all of the 1970 model big Buicks, and Riviera.
That's the best part! Just means exploring the big wide world, hunting for those hard to find parts in garages and sheds and scrap yards and meeting new faces along the way.
If it doesn't have dual exhaust I would find a way to make dual exhaust setup.. Does it have the trailer towing package and maby a posi?
Nice! Finding a posi is going to be a tough one though. Not sure if this 70 Estate wagon has the C body rear axle or the B body Lesabre rear though which might be easier to get a posi? We would love more pics..
