I have a new dash to replace my old cracked one.

I see their is several nuts to be removed by the glove box.

My question is after I remove the nuts, does the dash just pull out? I see several posts, do these have a clip on the backside or just pressure fit?

    thank you,

    Dennis,

The clips just snap in. The clips are actually smalls posts which fit tightly into spring clips. Just pull the dash near the posts. Start on the drivers side and gently pull. There should be 2 nuts under the dash in the vinicity of the glove box and the 2 screws attaching the instrument cluster bezel to the dash.

    Thank Brian

    Hey Brian,

How are ya doing. Have not talked in awhile.

    How is that GSX doing?

Thanks for the advice, this is what I figured, but it never hurts to ask before diving in!

    Dennis,

I just got the GSX running again after losing the motor to a bad cam or lifter. I ended up with metal shavings in the oil and it ruined all of the bearings. I just got it back together last weekend. It's running real strong. Love the new CAM.

I need to find myself a 3:64 rear for it. I'm running a 3:42 "OO" code rearend from an automatic.

How's your GSX? It's got to be a rarity in your neck of the woods.

    Be careful!!

There are 3 nuts above the glove box. Two inserted on the face of the steel dash underneath. One vertically from the dashpad into the steel dash.
I've had mine off a few times, forgot about the third one & broke the dashpad while tugging a little too hard!!

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

Read this to cover your removal and installation:

Will show the location of the nuts. I believe they are 11/32 or 3/8.
My experience has been the top stud (goes from pad to dash, points to the floor) is typically missing. Good Luck!

    god that was easy

I just finished installing the dash and I almost feel imbarrased I asked, that was easy. You are right about the 3rd nut, I did mill it but fortunatly if sliped off when tudded on it.

Brian, the GSX if fine. Had it out at a car show in Anchorage, yes it is rare in this neck of the woods for sure. Most people have only seen pictures in magazines of these cars and freak out to see one for real. Suprisingly alot of people know what it is and even the performance specs.

I had my Carb rebuilt by John Osborne, Wow..He is the MAN! The 4 barrels are so smooth it feels like a fuel injected motor. Thumbs up for John! Money well spend and fast service.

I took the GSX out on the local cruz strip in Anchorage, the Ricers were on me like a pack of Mosquitos on a Moose. The really wanted to race but I just cruzed. I will be back to pound them next month in my Stage 2 wagon.

What cam did you go with Brian? Stock motor?

    Why, you coming down? When?

There is a good one on May 22nd at Triple X burger in Issaquah, but I will be in Vegas so I will miss it. All Buick Open June 11 of course, lots of others.

Check here for a calendar it shows about 80% of the shows in WA.
