HI,I want a rh door mirror for my 72 Skylark and I found a junkyard that has some fullsize Buicks with the rh mirror on them. The fullsize cars look to be72-76 years and even found one on a newer[maybe 1980] model as well.My question is what years from the fullsize work on the Skylark and are they a direct bolt on???

Good question as I scored one of those off a big car Buick the years you described and have been hesitant to do anything with it until I know for sure. Drilling any holes in my passenger door is going to be tough!

I recall it is not the same part number. I thought it was dimensionally thicker and the surround for the mirror was also slightly larger.

The mirrors off those cars have a slightly smaller base. I got one on ebay that was supposed to be off of a Skylark/GS. But when I went to mount it, the gasket did not fit and was too big.

It's probably a small enough of a difference that no one would probably notice that it wasn't 100% correct. I'm still contemplating putting on my car, I just have to find that black gasket that goes underneath. If this boneyard has a number of them, I'd pay to get one of those gaskets/mounting brackets.

Hi Phil,I may be able to get you a gasket and bracket as I saw one car that the rh mirror was damaged.I will see what I can do but it will be a week or two before I am that direction again. Also this yard sometimes thinks to much of their old stuff but maybe they will be reasonable on these items as they are on a row of cars they have reserved for demo derby.
