After a night of liquid happiness, I opened my hood to lay the new throttle cable on the radiator support so I wouldn't forget to install it before the next trip to the track. Fast forward a couple days later to when I sold the passenger racing bucket to a friend. I asked my wife if she wanted to take one last trip before I took the seat out. Of course she agreed and off we go. We made it about 600 feet doing a hole-shot out of the driveway, when I noticed the hood pins weren't in! Anyway, I've already straightened the roof back out and replaced the windshield after the 85 mph stress test and now need a hood. I live in southeast Missouri and would prefer one close enough for me to drive up and pick up as shipping would probably be cost-prohibitive. I don't need a GS hood unless it's real cheap. I kinda like the stealth look of a flat hood. Now if I can just get past the narrowed rear end, slicks, and 3 inch exhaust with Dynamax 12" mufflers, maybe the ricers will be fooled into thinking they have a chance. :3gears:
I have a 71 skylark hood you can have for free, I live just south of MPLS I don't know about shipping it but the price is right. It's in good shape has a couple of minor cherry dents in it, but was recently painted in the last four years and wasn't rusty or pitted underneath.
If Hopkinsville Ky is close enough for you to pick up I have both a 1970 and a 1971 Hood availible $75.00 each I also can have it sent to a business store in Paducah Ky for pick up there if that is closer but would have to be picked up 8-5 mon thur friday.
