I am looking for a #2 or #3 condition 1970-1972 GS Stage 1 455 convertible. Must be a correct car. If an automatic no column shift please. Please email me at erik_fleischner@hotmail.com. Thanks for your time. Erik Fleischner
Erik, The bucket seat / floor shift was not a regular production option on the 71 & 72 convertibles. It was only available as an S.C.O., and only a handful were built.
There were 81 Stage 1 convertibles built in both 1971 and 1972 (162 total). Twenty four of those are 4spd and the rest are on the column. All are straight bench or notch back bench with arm rest. As mentioned, except for maybe a very few SCOs. In 1970 they made 232 total with 67 4 spds. Buckets available in Black, (Pearl) White, and Burnished Saddle. Bench in Black, Sandalwood; Notchback with armrest in White and Burnished Saddle. Hope you find what you're looking for, but it is a rare bird when considering how many have gone out of existence in the last 35 years.
Erik, stage-x (Mark Reeves) on this board has a couple stage-1 4 speed cars. He also knows of a couple of others that he doesn't own. Good luck, Darren
4sd 70 stage1 convertible Are there any hard #s on how many 4sp 70 vert stage 1s are out there? What is one worth in a good color, buckets, original drive line? Full history, older driven resto and an original build sheet? This is not hypothetical........ so accurate help is much appreciated! JOHN
There are so few sold, and even those don't get reported as to the sale price. If an auto car in that shape is worth around 60-70K, a 4 speed should be worth AT LEAST 15 percent more. My guess is you wouldn't touch one for less than 70-80K if it's correct and has good "curb appeal." The GSX is leading the way in price, despite being 3 times as common. :Brow: Dan
70 stage 1 If anyone has a 70 stage 1 conv for 70-80 k I'll take right now contact me.Joe 4 speed that is
I have one, but I'm not sure I'm ready to part with it even for 100k+. Had the car a long time now, and even with as many cars as I have it's hard to think about letting one go.
I have some nos stage 1 emblems I can throw on my GS 455 convert I have for sale and save you $60,000. It will be are secret that it is not legit> Tony
I'm with Fred. Next to DNA and an education, helping me get this car in 1987 was the nicest thing my dad ever did for me. He's gone, but I still have the car. I'd venture to guess that mine is one of the few nice originals still regularly driven. God bless the USA....the Russians could never build a car like this for the proletariot Dan
