Ryan, Be careful with the Poston units.....any exposure to heat and they will warp. They did not make them from some fiberglass or other material reinforced plastic like the originals so they have a tendency to warp...don't ask me how I found this out. :shock:
Poston I have not used them, Ryan, I just knew they repro-them. Kepp on the look ut for the real ones, may be worth it. Check with Parts Place?
baskets I just found out that VFN fiberglass also sells they inserts here is the link to see the information but no pictures and I wonder if it will work on only there hood or stock metal hoods I plan to call them and ask but I thought I would post this for other people as this maybe a good sorce for others needing better ones than they have now http://www.vfnfiberglass.com/site.htm here is all it says: "'70-72 Buick GS Hood Scoop inserts. Ryan I hope you did not get yours from Poston. The stuff I got from them for the hood intakes was just good for the trash can. I may have one seal plate from them still that I will give to you. Just junk even as new.
No Jim no I did not buy anything from poston and I have heard from to many the problems with poston's baskets I was surprized to see VFN had these and wondered what kind of condition these would be as they make "from what I have heard" nice fiberglass hoods so MAYBE they make a nice basket for the hoods also
Ryan I have a set that I sold but the buyer found the set he lost before I shipped them. I was asking $40.00 for the pair plus shipping. Not perfect Not cracked screw holes appear to be good but they used to long of screws and have a small hole through in 2/3 areas under where the grills go. One has a spot looks like a small area under where the grill goes in the back that the has a hole it could be fixed. Let me know and I will take and post pictures if you are interested. Thanks Bill.
