70 455 qjet on a 72 350 intake?

  1. I'm getting a 70 455 Riv Qjet carb, for future needs on a 455 project, but I'm wondering if it will swap onto a 72 350 stock intake? Or can it be adapted to bolt on? Right now I have a newer Carter Comp Series 625cfm carb using an adapter plate to bolt up to the stock 72 350 intake. Can this be done? I know I will need to re-route the fuel line a bit for the qjet, I'm just wondering if this can be done?

I have an 850 Quadjet on my 70 intake and it fits fine. The only adaption you need is to run the fuel line to the front of the carb, instead of the side of it. The carb fits on the intake with no modifications done...you may have to play with the studs a bit going from a carter to a Q-jet though, but that should be it :TU:

    David,
Sure you can do it. All Q-jets have the same bolt pattern. It will fit. The 455 carbs have a bigger idle circuit. 455 carbs will work on a hot 350. You might need to rejet it for optimum performance. Good Luck.

    I also have a 455 qjet from a riv on my 70 350.

works great...as soon as I can get the choke right. I think I have the linkage installed wrong.:af:
