I was driving through Sunapee, NH yesterday and spotted a 1969 Buick Skylark custom convertible. It's located at Dick's New and Used Cars & Trucks. Junc. Rte. 11-103. Phone #603-863-4040. The guys name is Dick Wentzell. Seems like your typical used car salesman. He kept me there for about an hour talking about politics so if anyone wants to check the car out just be prepared. Ok, the car. Supposedly one owner with 65,000 original, doubt it. The guy has all kind of documentation and thinks this is going to fetch him extra cash for the car. Factory A/C car with 350 2bl. I started the car, let it warm up a bit, kicked it down and it almost stalled a couple of times but didn't smoke and sounded pretty smooth. Interior is mint, black/bench. Top has one L-shaped rip above the drivers seat. Exterior-needs quarters. Fenders are workable. Paint looks original, very weather beaten. All chrome will need to be done. Trunk is almost mint, the passenger side inner fender well is coming apart from the trunk, looks like it just needs to be tacked, no rust at all. I couldn't get under the car that good, from what I could see of the floors they looked ok. The drivers side inner fender and radiator core is absolutely mint. The battery tray is very rusty, couldn't get a good look at the inner fender, but I noticed a couple of small holes in the radiator core. The cowl under the windshield looks really good. It's hard to tell with out removing the stainless, but looked awsome. I don't even want to tell you what the guy told me when I asked him how much he was looking for. He handed me the typical used car chart that was way over priced and he wanted the good #3 price ($8550). He's insane, he has to know what he can get for the car so I think he'll be easy to talk down. He deals with a lot of GTO's, he has a few there so he knows what these cars go for. I wouldn't give him more than $2500. Sorry I couldn't get any pictures since I didn't have a camera. Well, if anyone is interested good luck and have a great time talking to the guy for about an hour or so. You might want to brush up on your politics.
