Anyone run into having issues with the transmission lines when using headers? We had to disconnect the lines at the transmission to install the headers. Now we have to figure out how to reconnect without redoing the lines?
They make 6an fittings for the trans and trans cooler, use those with braided 6an line. I tee mine at the radiator and run my trans cooler in parallel. The flexible braided line will allow you to reroute below the headers
Why?, it's the ideal solution. Using push lok hose, you run the lines inside the frame and keep them away from the exhaust heat. Good info in this thread, https://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/transmission-cooler-recommendation.299758/
I usually put new lines in and move them up by the inner fender. They get too hot down by the headers. Just regular 5/16 steel inverted flare tubing.
I've always just pushed them out of the way with a pry bar after getting the header in,...I have seen some get really close there on the backside of the crossmember,..but the stainless braided is the best option as you can re route them
Just get them from Summit or Ebay, https://www.summitracing.com/parts/fst-30275-1 https://www.ebay.com/itm/1146557286...8GoiRfccSfmKrj9q59h050xjHw==|tkp:BFBMiOSz7qNg
