Can anyone tell me what's the story with this '69 special deluxe I'm parting out? It's non air, it has a 340( at least that's what the valve covers say), and it has a two speed auto.
    Questions:
I thought that '68 was the last year for the two speed autos, so what is this doing in a '69?
What is a 340 doing in a '69? Was this such a low optioned car that they through the last of the last parts they had into it?

    :( Dazed and confused

I know '69 Skylarks came with 2 speed autos, I have one. They also came with 3 speed autos.

A two speed auto was definately available in '69.....Mine had a L6 Straight 6 infront of it.

As for the 340.....No, that wouldn't be correct for a '69

2-speeds were the base "standard" tranny, optional 3-speeds were also available. Both of mine (yes, I have two!) came with the 2-speeds from the factory.

Where is the car? What color? I could use a few parts!
