69 sky Convert windshield clips locations help

I am putting a new windshield in a 69 skylark convertible and want to know if there should be windshield clips installed on both sides or the windshield channel. I bought my car patially disassembled without the windshield installed so I am not sure. The top of the channel has clips accross the top but none on the side. Any help would be great.

no clips on the sides .
the side molding is part of the a pillar cover wide stainless.

 

Thank you very much abodybill. Today, I was ready to drill 4 holes on each side of the windshield channel and put flat head screws with new clips. Something told me to stop and find out for sure.
