When I was a teenager I helped my neighbor put Thrush "mufflers" on his '62 Skylark convertible. They made that 215 aluminum V8 sound like a monster!
Sorta like waving the bottle of Vermouth over the Gin as you are making a Dry Martini. One must not overdo it with Vermouth or mufflers on such a fine thing.
Pretty soon, I am just getting over a week with the flu, and believe me, no one wanted to be near me. Nick took the steering box back off because the front seal was leaking and Lou has already installed a new one and delivered it back to me. I had to repaint the front of the box, but it's done now. I need to get the box back up to Nick and will do that within the next few days. Then it's time for Nick to road test it, and a final cleanup. Duane
Duane Right on I was down last weekend with a bug.Just looking forward to the sounds of old school summer.
Yardley posted a short video on Facebook of the car running with full exhaust. He said he would post it here when he had some time. Duane
Update from Nick, He could not get the Holley 3-bbl to both idle correctly and run good at WOT, so we opted to put a Holley 4-bbl on the car. As far as correctness, it doesn't matter which carb we used as both could have been correct. He said I have a Blue Buick screamer, and it's really fun to drive. Just a couple of things left to do including clean-up, and the car will be delivered this Saturday. Then I get to put the spare tire/jack assembly in the trunk and it will be done. Already have a few fire extinguishers ready for the car, and one will live inside it. Can't wait to get it home. Duane
Thanks Guys, When I get the car I will post some pics of the finished exterior with the Emblems on the fenders, then it's time for putting the plate on and taking it for a ride. Nick said there is some 110 in my future, probably mixed with some high test. Duane PS. Bill, we "officially" started on May 25th 2018, so it will be 11 months until completion.
I feel warm and fuzzy inside. The Stepchild of Stepchildren barn to boulevard in record time. What a freakin epic accomplishment.
Agreed, but they were able to use existing tooling for the body. Unfortunately I doubt there would be a demand for the "Stepchild" die cast.
