Oh is this were we get put on the list. I wanna go for a ride but Duane if you feel like you're too busy I can take Brad for a ride in that shinny new ride. I am sure Brad and I could find some trouble to get into We promise we won't pick on to many Chevys and Fords.
Ryan, I have a few "good friends" like you. I was invited to a Concours d'Elegance event in my area and they accepted both my 71 Blue GSX and the 69 Motion car. The event is only about 10 miles from my house, so I figured we would just drive them over. My buddy Ritchie volunteered to drive whichever car I didn't want to. Duane
".....is the shifter knob supposed to have the "shift pattern" printed on it? Just curious." Bruce, Actually for this car the answer to this would probably be yes. This car did not come from the factory with a consolette, but had both it and the 8 grand tack added later, therefore originally it would have had the shift pattern on the ball. When the car was first found by Jimmy it had the Blue consolette installed on the car, the aftermarket tach was in it, and the original upper boot was smashed flat on the carpet below the consolette, and was being used as a lower boot. The standard answer to this question is this, if the car had a consolette then the shift pattern was on the consolette and not on the ball. If the car had no consolette, then the shift pattern had to be on the ball. Of course there were exceptions to this like with everything else, and I have never checked any of the assembly manuals to verify this. I opted to use a non-shift pattern ball so it would match the consolette installation. Duane
Duane- Here is the repro sending unit for the Sun blue line water gauge. This is the one I have in my car https://www.ebay.com/itm/SUN-WT-260...h-NPT-GM-style-/273717072233?oid=273649895477
Duane I think you could set it up as an attraction at Quaker or BG or Cecil. Sell tickets for a ride in the 69 Motion GS 4 Speed! I'm sure you'd raise more than enough to pay for any gas you'd burn up; maybe some tires too. Be a once in a lifetime op for people! Looks Great! I'm sure you'll be happy enough just to take Jimmy for a ride!
I think Brad has "kept it off" for a while now. Got to be proud of that.............and figuring it out another way, that's around 10 bowling balls worth of weight. Impressive. ".....is the shifter knob supposed to have the "shift pattern" printed on it? Just curious." Bruce, I just checked the assembly manual and they do call out a different shifter knob for cars with and without the consolettes. Duane
No choice, Tom. Look up RNY gastric bypass. Now have a stomach about the size of an egg and 1/2 and half of my small intestine is bypassed. 4 1/2 years ago had the surgery. Don't regret it one bit, saved my life.
Brad, I've known a few people who had the bypass done. It takes will power & the right diet to maintain. Some I know have gained back ALL the weight that was lost plus some. Was definitely not good for their health.
The interesting part of all of this is the company Ken Lisk is president of made the surgical staples my surgeon used. Talk about a small world.
Brad, You should see if Ken can get you some NOS ones, just in case. You know it's always good to have a few extra parts. Your buddy. Duane
