Here's the car... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969...3018642?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item1c1649c912 ? on the tag shown in the pictures where it says, "GS built especially for ...." I think early Riv's had this, did some GS cars get it from the factory?
My 69 GS400 convertible has that tag on it. It was right above the glove box. I don't know if it means that it was just specially ordered or there is something special about it.
Another seller who needs a spelling lesson. Doubt it's a real Stage car. Who would remove the Stage 1 emblems from the hood and replace them with 400's? Chrome valve covers prove nothing considering half the engine compartment is chromed. Was cloth interior an option in '69? What the hell is an A-track?
Trumpet Gold, black top, bench interior. Has the correct, hard to find 243 carb (69 GS 400 4 speed carb). Frame looks good. Lots of obvious (and hidden) rust issues. $5000... o No: Buyers market right now..
.......WHIT ALL THE EXSUAST MACHING TO :error: Oh my God. This auction wins the 2010 ebay spelling carnage award hands down.
I emailed and talked to the guy, I don't think it is a scam, it just isn't a stage 1. He said he bought it with a guarantee it was real for $7,800, I told him it wasn't and recommended he go back and talk to the previous owner.
I just saw this today and figured I either missed out on the deal of a lifetime, or avoided one lousy attempt of a scam. Too bad I'm not home or I would have made the trip to see the car in person. Even if it isn't a true Stage 1 but has a Stage 1 4-speed card, engine and/ or tranny, it'd be worth buying just for those at that price.
This rear car with A-track, has an accedent on the rear. The apolstery is original. You can tell from the original swatch left over after it was replaced.
I guess, in this case anyway, we can assume it was a factory installed plaque, and probably stuck on if someone actually walked in and ordered a car rather than buy it off the lot. Chris is right in that the car is not a Stage 1. Despite all the sellers spelling goofs, he had tons of pictures and even video, which is far better than an uninformed owners worded description. That right quarter was hit pretty hard, but all in all, someone got a neat driver for just $7,200.00.
On CL now for $9,500. Still in Vegas, but different phone number. Nice and clean factory a/c runs great has a dent on the quater panel for more info please call at 909-559-7833 http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/cto/2011778407.html
