69 GS trunk emblem on a 70?

I was drooling the 69 motion Skylark thread and saw the 69 GS trunk emblem hides the trunk lock and thought about getting one to put on my 70 Skylark, could it fit or would it be a mess.

 

Never thought about that before, but on first thought, where the trunk key hole is on both years, the '69 rear body is concave (curves inward) while the '70 is convex (curves outward). The '69 GS trunk lid emblem is very cool - no doubt, but it is intended for the concave surface of the '69.

 

The emblem is only a couple inches wide so it may not be a noticeable enough of a difference.

 

If it would fit, you would need to drill some access holes in the bottom structure of the trunk lid so you could install it.

Maybe some gasket material might hide any small "curvature" gaps if they exist, then.
