i took the cluster out of my '69 to change the bulbs in it, i figured while i had it out i would change the head light switch. so i put it all back together ,start the car ( i had 1 pink wire that i couldn't figure out where it went, when i tested it with a test light it is a all time hot but the key buzzer sounded), so i started the car and all the parking lights came on, so i put the old switch back in and the lights still come on when you turn the key on ( i made sure that i hooked up the ground on the switch when i put it back), what am i missing?, i figure its got to be something simple i over looked.
any help would be great thanks kenny

The only "All-time" (i.e. Keyy out of ignition) hot wires I can think of are the headlights, brakelights, flashers, horn, and Cig. lighter and clock

EDIT: Ohhh ....my Top Switch too.....Duh

    Key Buzzer ?? On a 69 ??!!??!??

not on any of the 12 or so I've owned.....

My 68 has one, but it's a dash mounted ignition switch. The pink lead may not go to anything, in the wiring diagrams it show's pink supplying optional items like cruise, power windows, map light etc...
Did you hook up the black spade connector on the metal ring that goes around the light switch?

yes thats the ground right?, i've got a '68 chassy man , thats what it showed but i thought '69 would be different because of the key not in the dash, i was wondering if the pink wire went the the headlight switch for when you left your light on , but i can't see where it went., i'm trying to firgure this out with out having to pull the dash cluster back out, thanks guys
